Turn Over A New Leaf with Nature Journaling

Your True Nature LogoJournaling is a powerful tool. Whether you want to sort out your thoughts, capture memories, or write down specific goals and ideas for improving your life, journaling is a way to bring thoughts into reality. There is an almost inexplicable power in the act of writing things down. Some years ago, I illustrated a journaling book for Cottonwood Press called A New Leaf that is full of tree-related prompts to help tickle your imagination and inspire you, as the title implies, to let trees and nature guide and inspire your writing. Perhaps you are ready to go out on a limb to try something new? Maybe it is time to finally follow a dream that has been lying dormant inside your soul for far too long? I encourage you to live your true nature and I believe that journaling can be a great way to discover what it is that brings you closer and closer to living the life of your dreams. Here is a prompt from A New Leaf to get you started…”What does it mean to go out on a limb? What do you feel strongly about? Would you go out on a limb for it?” Happy Writing! Oh, if you need a lovely nature inspired journal to hold your thoughts…we have our Advice from a Tree and plenty of others to choose from.

I truly agree with you that journaling is a powerful tool and as a journaling advocate I always ‘pushing’ it on my students and loved ones. To really understand the benefits, you might also want to check out my new memoir, Regina’s Closet: Finding My Grandmother’s Secret Journal (Beaufort, Sept 2007) to see how beneficial it can also be for future generations! It is available wherever books are sold and also on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. A great holiday gift!

    Holiday cheers to you!
